December blog hop

The challenge for December's Cliquekit is Anything Goes which is so good for me this month because again I didn't have anything planned when I went to my Christmas crop. I was so unprepared I even forgot my trimmer, luckily I had a pair of scissors with me. Over all it was a productive day with lots of laughs. As I was looking at the layouts I did get done I did find a reoccurring theme FRIENDS. I have childhood friends, mother/daughter bonding, girlfriends and the guys. Enjoy~
My first layout Is of my kids and my sons best friend on a rainy day at the park 9 yrs ago.

My 2nd layout is of my daughter from a few months ago. We both needed a little cheering up so she read me Grimm Fairy Tales. So I thought I would also try and have a cheerful layout. The lace was from a friend at the crop who was clearing out her stash. I love how the the black and white photo lined perfectly with the colored one  even though she was looking at totally different things on the tablet.

My 3rd and 4th layout go together. At first I wasn't crazy about the flower paper but when I came across the group picture I knew I had to use the flower paper.  It is of one of the best girls weekend at a Creative Keepsakes Convention. In the picture is my dear friend who passed away and she loved any and all things pink. I again used lace from a friend and tried to paint the Heidi Swapp words but since all I had was real paint it's a little off. The opposite page is of the same day at lunch with some more dear friends.

My last layout is also about friends. My son has been blessed with some great friends through the Boy Scouts. There isn't a day that goes by that they don't talk even though none of them go to the same school together. Here they are at the last camp out of the summer this year.

So like I said even without prepping and with out all the right tools it was a very productive crop. Maybe I won't prep anymore, it seems to be working LOL.

November Blog Hop

Have you ever gone to a crop without a clue what you were going to do. Yeah that was me this last weekend. I brought a envelope of pictures, my roll tote of card stock and another one of pattern paper and the last 3 Clique Kits and thought "Well this should be fun". and it was I only used November's kit and got 6 layouts done. Well I say done but they all still need titles, so I'll only be showing you 2 today.
The first one I did was of me when I was little so like 1980. I'm the one with the big hat on. The other kids in the picture are my brother and sister and then my older cousin and her kids.
My 2nd layout is also of cousins but this time it's my son and his cousins. My son is the one in red and then my sister's son and one of my brother's son.
Well you did it you made it to the end of the hop. Below it the links to all of the blogs. Make sure to leave a comment on each one, you might get a gift from Clique Kits.

October Clique Kit Blog Hop

Ahhh social media, how did we get along without you? ha yeah right we got along just fine, but if you have teenagers like I do you know that they live on it. Not so much FB anymore, us parents "ruined" that for them but twitter, tumbler and Instagram are still alive and well -Public Service Announcement- My daughter wanted me to let you know Do Not Reply to what your kids put out there.  If you like it keep it to yourself, don't even bring it up when you talk to them. You CAN ask about their lives of course but once you bring up the little details that they didn't tell you they will in turn not trust you. And if you don't like what they are putting out there well then you may have to have a heart to heart. That being said I have told my kids that I will sometimes "stalk" them, and if they post a picture I will screen shot it, and it may end up in a scrapbook page.

This month's challenge was to tell or show a project of why we are glad we live in a world that has Octobers. It's was fitting for me this month because I had just started reading Anne of Green Gables for the first time. I loved the movies but finally got around to reading the books. So I looked and looked for October/Fall pictures and didn't find any but I did come across some pictures on my daughter's Instagram that went along with the Kelly Perky paper we got in our kit this month.

As you can see I left my screen shot just as I took it. I wanted to keep what she wrote. It gives a reason as to why this is what she wanted to put out there on the inter-webs. And this is her story, her memory and her journal.

The house pattern paper is on it's side, I asked both kids what way looked better and we all liked it on it's side, the map tucked under the picture is from the packaging, and the swirled heart is from the exclusive cut file from the kit. It was the center of a light bulb but I only wanted the heart so I played with my explore and came up with this.

September Clique Kit Blog Hop

Sorry for the late post I thought I'd be home to post it but the truck wanted me to get more done than just an oil change.

Welcome to Clique Kits blog hop. I didn't get done as much as I wanted, but hey 3 layouts is better than 0 right.
The first layout is pretty basic, I don't know why I didn't have any drive this month I LOVE LOVE LOVE this kit and the papers were yummy, I think it's because I scrapped out of order and it kind of threw me. Anyways here are the kids at Disneyland/California Adventure. The big candy corn is from 1 of the A's in CALIFORNIA. Again the layout doesn't even capture that it's Halloween or Disney but I wanted it to capture more of the love between the kids. The 2 photos on the right weren't posed, I'm so glad I got their love on film.
I loved doing this next page for a couple of reasons. A) the homemade hearts for the kit LOVE LOVE LOVE them B) I used part of the packaging as one of the layers and C) I had taken these pictures from my office window. My son realized it in the last pic as you can see.

My last layout was a little tricky for me until a friend gave me a heart doily, I inked it and then it all seemed to fall into place.

I didn't get a chance to do another phone case ;'( but I'll make sure to try and make one next month =)

Wild and Free

The theme this month for Clique Kit is Wild & Free, Luckily I had just gotten pictures from my sister-in-law from when she, my brother and my niece came out to visit the family. While they were here they went up to the Sequoia's with another one of my brothers and his family, they also took my son along for the adventure. I'm so grateful they took pictures.

This first layout is beyond super simple. I used the fun washi tape we got in last month's kit and made a grid on green cardstock and then just added the pictures inside each rectangle. The title is And So The Story Begins, and it's cut from one of the 3x4 cards from My Mind's Eye: Ashbury Heights. We got a set of 12 in the kit.

For my second layout I turned my cardstock over and used the the other side. Here I did some layering with American Crafts:DIY Shop- Wood Grain journal card, My Minds Eye paper, and 2 flaire add ons. To make the title I again used the washi from last month, folded it on itself and adhered 2 to the back of each Chic Tags: Wooden Bunting and made it look like they were hanging from the May Arts twine.

Here are some close ups for you.

I was so happy to see that they got pictures of my son, and I love all 3 of these. the top one is him touching the top of the "door way" of a fallen tree, and the next 2 are from a hike they did. The first one is him sitting on a bolder at the top of the ridge and the other one he is safely behind the railing. For this layout I used both sides of MME: Market Street- Wallpaper,  another wood grain journal 4x6, Pretty Little Studios-Gold Foil Word Stickers, Fancy Pants Cork Hearts, washi tape and I cut out a trailer from the Webster Pages:Party Time- Camper Vellum
For My last layout  I wanted to highlight my niece. Isn't she the cutest. I used both sides of MME Dotted Paper, 2 of the 3x4 cards, another gold foil word, a gold doily, a Clique Kits exclusive Colorblock wood pained heart by Gia. I also used 3 flower brads from BG that I had already lying on my desk.

Well I couldn't help myself and I made another phone cover. I used a 4x6 wood grain journal block for the base, and a picture of the Eiffel Tower from the kit and again used the washi tape from last month (I love this stuff).
Hope you had fun looking at what I did with this month's kit so far. Don't forget to post a comment at the end of this post, and on all the other blogs apart of this month's hop, you'll be entered into a drawing offered by Clique Kits if you do. Here's August Line-up

July Clique Kits Blog Hop

This month's theme for Clique Kit is Captured on Film. They wanted us to use filmstrips, viewfinders or Polaroids.Well I didn't use any of those. I know rebel, instead I used my embellishments in rows like a filmstrip and the photos are a memory that I don't want to forget; we surprised the kids to a trip to Knott's Berry Farm for their birthdays.

My First layout this month is of my daughter. I was able to get a nice close-up of my daughter and wanted to "girl-up" the layout, mostly because she's not into pink and flowers anymore, but she was then. I used the buttons from the kit on the side to mimic a filmstrip.
In this layout I wanted to show the kids and of course Snoopy. The embellishments are again in rows like a filmstrip framing my pictures.

As I was looking through my pictures I realized they all had a theme. My kids had their hands up for every ride, how could I not put that in a layout. So for this layout each picture the kids have their hands up high. I kept the layout simple. I added the wood "gears" to symbolize the gears of a ride, and of course I had to add 2 tickets for these crazy riders.   My last layout is the kids at the end of the day. The kids and I love water and what's better than taking a fountain photo, Oh I know taking a fountain photo while in the fountain. I couldn't believe how perfectly the paper and the water and the stripes from the awning matched.

Since the theme this month is Captured on Film I thought I'd make an cover for my iphone after all it is the camera I have on me at all times.

Well I couldn't go to bed without doing my last pictures of Knott's Berry Farm. Here are the kids at the Liberty Bell.  I turned the paper City Scape upside down; I love the paper but didn't want  the city to show. It was an easy fix to my problem.

I hope you all enjoyed my layouts and little craft. Make sure to check out the other ladies in the blog hop, comment on all the blogs for your chance of a great prize from Clique Kit.

To & Fro

Today's the start of me driving to and from the high school 3 times a day. I start the day by getting Juliet to summer school by 7:15 and then I'm back with Jonathan at 11 for wrestling practice. Now comes the lucky part. Both kids are in wrestling, so I don't have to go back up to the school til 4.

Show & Tell Your Favorite Thing(s)

Have you tried scrapbooking with one of those "Scrapbooking Kits" ,you know the ones that get mailed to you with paper and embellishments from different companies, all rolled into one kit?  This is my first month to ever play/work with such a kit. I made my own before and used that but this is the first time I ever ordered one.
The kit I picked to use is from Clique Kits. Each month they have a different kit all ready for you. For June the theme is Show & Tell Your Favorite Thing(s)When I first saw the kit I was a little scared, I don't normally use black & white and bold bright colors but that's why I got the kit in the first place right, to try something new and expand my creativity. Luckily I already had in mind what I was going to scrapbook. I scrap in order as much as possible or else I get too unorganized and right now I'm doing our Disney Cruise from 2005. Yeah I'm a little behind.
My first layout is Donald Duck and my kids. My kids love Donald, mostly my daughter. I had so much fun making this page. Adding the black and white to the bold colors was a little uneasy at first but I love how it turned out.  Can you find the hidden Mickey??

See the video here

Join me to see others use the same kit, in doing so you can win a $10 gift card from Clique Kit, all you have to do is go to each of the blogs below and comment on their Show & Tell posts. Good luck :)
